# Platform migrations

Moving a site or a store from one platform to another. Before anything is moved, we tell you in writing what moves by itself and what has to be rebuilt. Every old address is redirected to its new one, and the new site is checked before the domain is changed.

## To WordPress

For a site that has outgrown a website builder, or a design that is ready to be built.

- ### Wix to WordPress
Wix has no full export, so pages are rebuilt and content carried across, with every old address redirected.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/wix-to-wordpress-migration/
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-wix-to-wordpress/
- ### Squarespace to WordPress
Squarespace exports pages and one blog in a file WordPress reads. The rest, and the design, is rebuilt.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/squarespace-to-wordpress-migration/
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-squarespace-to-wordpress/
- ### Webflow to WordPress
Webflow exports each CMS Collection as a CSV file, and its code export is not a site WordPress can import. The content is carried across and the design is rebuilt.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/webflow-to-wordpress-migration/
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-webflow-to-wordpress/
- ### Framer to WordPress
Framer's help says CMS content can be exported through plugins as CSV or JSON. The pages and the design are made again in WordPress, and every old address is redirected.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/framer-to-wordpress-migration/
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-framer-to-wordpress/
- ### WordPress.com to self-hosted WordPress
The same software on hosting you rent: an export, an import and a redirect of the old address.
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/wordpress-com-to-self-hosted/
  - Ask about this move: https://wpministry.co/migrations/assessment/?from=wordpress-com&to=wordpress
- ### Blogger to WordPress
Blogger's backup now comes from Google Takeout, and the importer WordPress lists does not read it. The guide says how to check your file and keep your old addresses.
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-blogger-to-wordpress/
  - Ask about this move: https://wpministry.co/migrations/assessment/?from=blogger&to=wordpress
- ### Figma to WordPress
A build, not a move: a WordPress site made from a finished design.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/figma-to-wordpress/

## To WooCommerce

For a store that wants to own its software and its data.

- ### Shopify to WooCommerce
Products, customers and orders move. The design is rebuilt, and Shopify's addresses are redirected to the new ones.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/shopify-to-woocommerce-migration/
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-shopify-to-woocommerce/

## To Shopify

For a store that would rather not run its own software. We move it there properly.

- ### WooCommerce to Shopify
Products, customers and past orders are brought into Shopify by the routes Shopify documents. The store arrives on a Shopify theme you choose, changed to fit your design where you want that.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/woocommerce-to-shopify-migration/
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-woocommerce-to-shopify/

## To Webflow

For a site whose owner has decided to leave WordPress. We say first what could be fixed without moving.

- ### WordPress to Webflow
Webflow's CMS takes content as CSV files and WordPress's export screen makes an XML file, so the content is converted on the way. The design is built again in Webflow, and every old address is redirected.
  - Have us do it: https://wpministry.co/services/wordpress-to-webflow-migration/
  - Do it yourself: https://wpministry.co/blog/migrate-wordpress-to-webflow/

## What every move includes

- A written list of what moves and what is rebuilt, before you decide
- Old addresses redirected to the new ones, and checked
- The new site checked before the domain is changed

A change of platform is quoted in writing, because no two sites are the same size. The assessment that comes before the quote is free, and whether to go ahead is up to you.

Doing the move yourself? The redirect map builder (https://wpministry.co/tools/redirect-map-builder/) turns your list of old and new addresses into redirect rules, and the redirect checker (https://wpministry.co/tools/redirect-checker/) shows where each old address now leads.

## Other moves

On Weebly, GoDaddy's builder, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, BigCommerce or something not listed here? Tell us what the site is on and where you want it, and we will say whether it is a move we take on.

Staying on WordPress and only changing hosting? That is a smaller job, at $59: the WordPress migration service (https://wpministry.co/services/wordpress-migration/).

May we measure how this site is used?

A yes notes the pages of this visit and loads Google Analytics. A no keeps and loads nothing. See the cookies page (https://wpministry.co/legal/cookies/).

If you say yes, we note the pages you look at during this visit and load Google Analytics. If you say no, nothing is kept and nothing is loaded. The site works the same either way. The cookies page (https://wpministry.co/legal/cookies/) has the details.
